Graffiti Moon is a book told from three points of view; Lucy, Shadow and Poet. The different point of views really shows you how differently the characters interpret all the different situations they are put in.
The story takes place over a twenty four hour period of time. Although there are a lot of flash backs. Lucy and her best friends Jazz and Daisy are all looking for a fun way to celebrate the end of year 12. So they decide to meet up with a group of boys they know from school (Ed, Dylan and Leo)
Lucy wants to find her favourite graffiti artist Shadow but instead is stuck spending the night with the guy whose nose she broke on their date from and a few years ago, Ed. But when Ed tells her he might know where to find Shadow Lucy is as happy as can be. This is only the start of an all-night adventure for Ed and Lucy.
This book has some great pomes in it and they really relate to what’s going on in the book and they help bring the book together. They were definitely a fantastic thing to incorporate into the book
This book really makes you respect the art of graffiti and wish you could do it but unfortunately I Can’t. L
There are so many relationships going on between the characters that it’s a little hard to keep up at first but as the book goes on you get sucked in and don’t want to put it down.
Sometimes it gets a bit confusing and you may have to read back over parts but in the end it all makes sense.
I really loved this book and I think everyone should definitely pick it up and have a read.
RATE: 4/5
I highly recommend this book to anyone in high school.

Graffiti Moon Book Review

Author: Cath Crowley
Published: Pan Macmillan
Publication date: 2010
Graffiti Moon is about senior year is over, and Lucy has the perfect way to celebrate: tonight, she’s going to find shadow, the mysterious graffiti artist – whose work appears all over the city. He is out there somewhere- spraying colour, spraying birds and blue sky on the night- and Lucy knows a guy who paints like shadow is someone she could fall for. Really fall for. Instead, Lucy is stuck at a party with Ed, the guy she managed to avoid since the most awkward date of her life. But when Ed tells her, he knows where to find shadow, they are suddenly on an all-night search around the city to look for shadow. What Lucy can’t see is the one thing that’s right before her eyes.
I had look of trouble reading Graffiti moon at first but when I read about 50 pages, while I was read it was a really good book with cute premise. I can’t say I was all that invested in the characters, Lucy and her BFF’s ( Jazz & Daisy) are looking for an night of fun to celebrate the end of the year 12 when they meet up with a group of boys ( Ed, Leo and Dylan ). Lucy is sure that the boys can lead her to shadow, the graffiti artist whose art that speak Lucy soul.
I’m so glad that I continued with this book because once the character fates are intertwined and their secrets unfold, I was completely hooked. The feeling I had when I was reading the book, when reading something special is that you can’t rush, it is the same when you read this but because you can’t rush it, you get stuck into the book.
Ed takes Lucy on a tour of “shadow’s” work, Lucy is hoping that she and connect the dot to see you shadow really is and some of the paintings are actually of Lucy. He baring his soul to her and exposing secrets about himself that he’s rarely done with anyone else hoping that she’ll want him anyway.
Both Ed & Lucy are artist and they can see the night in the bright colours and the vibrant scenes. Lucy is a glassblower she makes bottles that hold scenes of her memories inside when she sees the night as moments to shape and store into her bottle. Ed sees and hears Lucy as colours bursting onto a wall in one of his paintings. The perfect blue - birds taking flight. I could ever visualize a book as easily as I could Graffiti Moon. I have TWO artistic abilities but I want to paint murals of birds all over my wall when I finished reading the book.
I rate this book: 4/5
